Welcome aboard the home of Hype Train Football Club. Here, you can read the match reports from the Train's outings across Saturday League action throughout the 2024/25 season, with the team competing in the East Berkshire Football League (EBFL). All aboard.

Match Report: Hype Train FC

Date: Saturday 14th December 2024

Competition: EBFL Division One (Game 6)

Opposition: Prospect FC

Location: Waingels College, Woodley, Reading, RG5 4RF

Final Score: Hype Train FC 0-1 Prospect FC

Match Report:

The Train's encounter against Old Windsor was our 13th fixture of the 2024/25 season in the East Berkshire Football League, with the team competing in EBFL's Division One for the first time since early October. This was our first encounter against Prospect, who are formerly known as Reading Tigers.

In a one goal game, Prospect took the lead just after the half hour mark when we gave the ball away at the edge of the penalty area, allowing an easy goal for the visitors, who throughout the game hit the bar several times and had the bulk of chances - with the team thankful for Jamie Halsall in goal for the team on the day.

It was an off day for us at The Train, though a lob attempt by Jon Watkins, and a late chance by Mitchell Saunders, were our most dangerous moments alongside several top set-piece deliveries by Lucas Coe.

The result means that it is our first loss in the league, and we will be returning to playing on Saturday 11th January 2025, hoping to bounce back!
